Glad to be a teacher!
December 14, 2006Wala lang ….just wanted to write yesterday's…..tear jerking….MAALAALA MO KAYA ….Live! Testomonial Program of my two colleagues….Ma'am Allie and Ma'am Pura…mga good teachers na naabutan ko pa when I arrived in the school where I'm teaching now ….Ma'am Pura Grade head namin last year sa Grade 1, very supportive with my career specially when I had a self diagnosed…deppression, she was there to tell me na Life's like that….teaching is challenging…..I was undergoing a culture shock then. Ma'am Allie "The Perfect Host" ….from preparation to restoration! She's the H.E. Coordinator and very motherly, though we'd been together for a short time…..but I can really say she's a very nice person…..motherly! A mother anyone would want to have…..she's very sweet and soft spoken to add very concern. Yesterday together with the teachers, administrators from different school in our district including the district supervisor we prepared a program for them….started with a prayer in a form of song by Ruby, my colleague and I….."How Great Thou Art" ….then the introduction of honorees….after they were introduced dramatic ang intro…. they walked down the isle with their husband and children…..going to the stage where they joined all our guests…"party poppers" were blown that added intensity to the entrace…..of the royal court!….when they settled at the stage, presentation from the teachers started….first to perform mga Kinder and Grade 1 teachers….they sung….."If we hold on together ….I know our dreams will never die…dream see us through to …forever where clouds rolled by…for you and I!" …..huhuhu! Then a message was given by Marife, daughter of Ma'm Pura and student of Ma'am Allie and a teacher in our school……she thanked both ladies with tears. Then the Grade 2 and Grade 3 teachers danced with sweet music to the honorees….then a message was given by Ma'am Nitz, friend of both honorees, flowers ang gifts were being offered. After the presentatation, Ma'am Nitz the bestfriend of Ma'am Pura gave glimpses about her…..she recalled how they shared their meals and problems…..sighting some unforgetabale moments…..she was in tears…and so with the audience and guests! Then Ma'am Amy , Ma'am Allie's bestfriend gave glimpses about her….she shared their funny experience at the mountains…….when they were first assigned in the farflung areas until they were tranferred our school! ……tears were pouring down……like rain! After that presentation from Grade 4 and Grade 5 teachers. We danced swing….. the easiest step available for DANCEROUS like us! hahaha! After us the Grade 6 and floating teachers…. they danced….BOOM TARAT TARAT! the crowd was very noisy….singing with the music! I really enjoyed the sight it gave me a sense of belongingness….nga maestrahon jud ko! hahahahaha! Now I realized it's not easy to be a teacher 8 days a week ang duty!!!!! huh????????????????? yes! kay bisag naa ka sa balay ……daghan kag paper works but somehow as you see your students progress you will feel satisfied and contented……and feel blessed to be a part of these childrens' lives! After the program…..picture2!…..then salo salo together …..and walang hanggang tawanan! Masarap naman pala ang buhay sa DepEd!…Minsan!
